Retro Radio Flyer Car fun!
Here she is enjoying another surprise Bday gift! She is going to be
the slickest kid on the block in this little car.
Her feet just touch the floor when she has on big shoes and she will
be cruising along in No time! Thanks "Papa Ricardo"!
In other news, both grandmas had to head home today. We already miss them so much.
Madeline really enjoyed her time with them. A few times if they walked out of the house, even if she was left with me, she got very upset. And while nobody wants to see their little girl upset, it is nice to see her being so attached to grandma.
She will wake up tomorrow and i imagine, be looking all over for them.
Thanks moms. You really made her first birthday so special for us all. We love you.

Bday w/ grandmas
Madeline got to pick out her birthday gifts from her grandmas!
She got her first pair of real shoes and she got to wear them on her new tricycle!
She has been having a blast with her grandmas here (and i suspect they have too) and so we have not blogged a bunch but once we have quelled all the photos from this week ill try to get them posted.
Thank you to everyone for the great phone calls, cards, gifts and love. Madeline has had a great birthday week! XOXOXO

Birthday Party
We celebrated Madeline's birthday today. We had a small get together at hom and Don made a yummy barbecue.
I think the highlight of her day was playing in the living room with Eva, her cuz, despite all the grown-ups who came from far and wide to see her.
I don't think she was crazy about all the high chair time. getting up and running around is more exciting. But she loved the singing and clapping so much that we sang to her twice.
Here she is having her vegan carrot cake cupcakes and avocado frosting for her bday! The grammas helped me make it - yum!
memorable gifts today include: baby doll, sand and water toys and some awesome books and puzzles. She also has a radio flyer car and a big wagon for trips to the park on the way...and her real birthday isnt until Wednesday! We are so lucky that she has so many adoring fans. thank you for spoiling her!
thank you everyone for helping to celebrate this day. What a year it has been and continues to unfold. She has brought us so much joy and her little personality just blossoms every day. We can't wait to see you all and share her with you again, in person.
xoxo

chillin at the park
Madeline got some fresh air, even though she had a cold.
She was in such a daze! The cold is almost gone
but she is still a boogey nose- Gosh, i swore i would not
be a boogy nose baby's mom. its so gross. but i see now
how hard it is Not to be!
Prison break at the slide
they look like gangsters bc this part of the park
is pretty grimy and they were all sorta pooped.
in a tree!
look at that belly. we are so not starving her!

Stacker
She has been really into stacking recently and so i captured some video
of her exploits. She loves her star stacker and has been working on
using the cups to stack a few at a time. And then, of course she is a big fan
of "organizing" the tupperware and stacking/banging those items all
around the kitchen, knocking down towers (not creating them yet, but she
likes to watch) and putting things on top of her head. I guess this is a kind
of stacking- or maybe it is just that she pretends everything is her hat (or her cell phone).
oh yeah- and in case you hadnt noticed, she is totally a "righty"-she has favored
her right hand since she could hold anything!

Walking!
I think we finally got a few clips
here is what you've all been waiting for!
ok. so she was COVERED in tomatoes but we just had to let her eat her share since
she worked so hard to get there.
We are finding that to be the case a lot these days.
i'll keep my eye out for more walking video opportunities. These days she just springs up and takes off when i least expect it. She can get across a room or the lawn with relative ease but is easily tripped up by uneven ground or obstacles in her way. this is so exciting!
