Wedding on Mt Tam

On January 17th, I married the greatest man I have ever met. We hiked up Mt. Tam with our friend Larissa, a minister, my aunt Veronica and Don's mom, Rose. Our friends Daaen, Shane, Ben, Jessica and Karl hiked up with us and stood in a circle around us as we shared the vows we wrote for one another and exchanged rings. There was a great spiritual vibe in the air with the sun shining beneath the fog on the water below on "our spot" behind a great big rock that shielded us from the wind. We are married!
So, my new name is Mrs. Ashia Mann. I am going to try to keep DeLaBastide as my new middle name but the paperwork isnt finished yet. its only been a few days ;)
It was a perfect day, with the only exception being that not all of our family and friends could be there. We each only had one family member and three friends present. We hope one day to have a big old party and invite you all to eat drink and be merry as we celebrate our wedding.

Much love to you all. There is lots to do. I start a new job on monday here in San Francisco but have to finish moving from my home with Shane and Chris, to my husband Don's.

We will upload pics on Shutterfly tomorrow so you can see a whole bunch!

Monday is a National Holiday?

So, after a 3 day weekend, we had so many errands to get through.
Too bad EVERYTHING is closed. Post Office, Banks...everything!
So Cheesecake Factory was jumpin and the city was under like 10
ft of water! It hasn't stopped raining for like 10 days and people are
getting grumpy. The only place of refuge seems to be Costco!
Don went twice!
So we made a three course meal and MMMM Daaen taught us how
to make an awesome meat sauce out of a jar from Trader Joe's- our
other favorite hot spot.
We also decided that since we are such FOODIES that we should
encourage Daaen to get a job at another restaurant or at a market
so we can branch out from the Cheesecake menu!
We made sure he picked up an application from Traders today".

In other news, Ashia is waiting (im) patiently for a return call from
YOUTHWORKS!
Aumijo call us!
Its a great place that pairs high school kids with government internships
for which they are paid almost 9 bucks an hour.
At my second interview, Ashia says, the kids asked "How do we know you are
serious about this job, I mean you obviously wont make a lot of money in this
field and you must make great tips at the Cheesecake Factory
LOL! I think i may have laughed in the poor young thing's face.
Not a great interview technique but so not what I expected.
Anyway, if i don't get the job I will have to take advantage of the time
and got o Hawaii or with Don on his trip to FL.
Don is going to Orlando to take a test in Security (tech stuff zzzzzzzz!)
and I'm hoping to tag along.

So either way...stoked.

Thats it for today, time to chill out in the hot tub. Shane and Chris got back
from their holiday 2 week vacation last night and the house is back to normal.

Daaen Lee

So Daaen Lee moved in on December 18, 2005...the day before we left for a week in New York with Ashia's family. He is from Ft. Laurderdale and has been studying IT for a gazillion years. Don decided it was high time we recruited a new transplant to this fine city and he has been here studying these massive books for the past 3 weeks. MERRY CHRISTMAS. Here is a clip of their recent study session wherein Don taught Daaen that he can't view word problems as stories but as groups of facts. Daaen is taking is tech tests soon and they are getting frustrated....many roadblocks, not the least of which is the fact that Daaen is freezing in our 55 degree weather and the poor boy would rather be in hurricaine central, FL.
Good Luck Boys!

WELCOME!

DON AND ASHIA
Here is a great pic of us from the Affymetrix holiday party 2005.
We spent 3 achingly long days trying to figure out what to wear.
Jessica helped Ashia buy that beautiful necklace, though, of course
it was a gift from Don ultimately. Then we spent at least an hour in
Macy's men store with 2 stylish helpers picking out a tie to match.
How did we do?
